Harmony with Matting

A rhythmic dance of interlacing ribbons, foliage and spring flowers come together to create a symphony of consonance and sophistication. Arched above the organically inspired motifs are the words from Song of Songs: Ani L’dodi Li, I am my Beloved’s and my Beloved is mine.

 The paper cut’s five superimposed layers with their subtle color changes invoke both balance and proportion. Here, is a visualization of the marriage union which has the power to bring together individuals who are diverse and distinct to form a harmonious  unity.
